
A few weeks ago, my friend Oscar sent me a video of Brayan Reyes scoring a great goal from distance to win a trophy for his Honduran first-division club Platense in November.
Platense beat Real Español to claim the Copa Presidente thanks to Reyes’ goal, which turned out to be the game-winner.
Reyes grew up in Morrisania and graduated from Stevenson High School before playing professionally in Hungary and his native Honduras. I had the opportunity to play behind him as center back during a game in May and I had a blast watching him go to work in our Pier 5 league. He is a great player and a cool guy.
