I watched people playing soccer in Cadman Plaza Park in Downtown Brooklyn from the window of a 30th floor office near Brooklyn Borough Hall yesterday. From high in the sky, the field looked like a last lush oasis cradled by a depleted forest.

The context is different, but the contrast reminds me of photos of deforestation in the Amazon.
