Izzy Tandir, a 20-year-old Bosnian striker who was born in Germany and raised in Hackettstown, New Jersey , has signed with Real Zaragoza in Spain’s Segunda Division. Tandir came up through the Red Bulls youth academy before playing for FC Sochaux’s youth team in France, Sacramento Republic and Breiðablik in Iceland. He also played at Hackettstown High School in New Jersey.

Real Zaragoza currently sit in fifth place in the Segunda División, the league below La Liga. They are four points behind first place Cordóba and seem like contenders for promotion to La Liga.

There is currently no player in La Liga who played soccer at an American high school.

Klinsmann — call Tandir.

  1. Excellent readings !
But as a fellow blogger from the “other side” of the front line in the battle for great talents, a Bosnian side ;-), I must express my sincere and deepest wish Ismar will succeed on of the best world strikers of last decade, Edin Džeko – and you know what that means 😉

Sincere congrats on great article, and sincere greetings from Sarajevo !
    🙂
